The short version
Praise Patch collects two very different kinds of information, and it matters which is which.
- Your information, as a customer of ours. Your name, your email address, your business details, and what you do inside the app. We hold this and we are responsible for it.
- Your customers' reviews. When somebody leaves a review for your business, that review belongs to you and to them. We hold it on your behalf. You decide what happens to it. We do not sell it, mine it, publish it, or use it to advertise anything.
We do not sell personal information to anyone. We never have and we have no plans to.
What we collect from you
When you buy and create an account
- Your first and last name, and your email address.
- Your business name, business type, logo, brand colors, and the questions you choose to ask.
- A record that your purchase was matched to your account.
Payment is handled by our checkout provider. We never see or store your card number.
When you add customers to ask
You give us the names, email addresses, and sometimes phone numbers of the customers you want to ask for a review, along with any tag you add. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to give us those details, which in practice means these are people you have actually done business with.
When you join the launch list
Your name and email address only, so we can tell you the day Praise Patch opens. One email. You can ask us to remove you at any time and we will.
What we collect from your customers
When one of your customers opens your review link, we collect what they choose to give:
- Their answers, as video, audio, or text.
- Their first name, their email address, optionally their business name, and a star rating.
- Their consent, recorded as the exact wording they agreed to and the moment they agreed to it.
Your customer does not create an account and is never asked for a password.
What we do with it
- Run the service: collect reviews, show them to you, let you approve them, build the graphics and pages you ask for.
- Send the emails the service exists to send, including your review requests and your own account notifications.
- Keep the service secure, and diagnose problems when something breaks.
- Answer you when you write to us.
We do not use your reviews to train advertising, we do not build profiles of your customers, and we do not use your data to market to your customers.
Approval, and why it matters here
Every review arrives private and stays private until you approve it. Nothing your customer submits becomes public because of anything we do. There is no setting that changes this. If you decline a review it stays private, and your customer is never told.
Who else touches your data
We use a small number of providers to run the service. Each one only receives what it needs.
- Supabase stores the database, the accounts, and the uploaded video and audio files.
- Lovable hosts and serves the application.
- Resend sends our email.
- Beacons is our storefront and handles the purchase.
- Stripe processes payments and subscriptions. We never see or store your card number.
- Zapier carries the order notification from our storefront to our system so your access is granted automatically. It sees the name and email address on your order and nothing else.
We do not give your information to anyone else unless you ask us to, or unless we are legally required to and are permitted to tell you.
What we do not do with video and audio
We do not perform facial recognition, biometric identification, voice print analysis, or any similar processing on the video or audio your customers record. We store it, we show it to you, and we display it where you tell us to. Nothing else.
Cookies and tracking
We use the cookies required to keep you signed in. We do not run advertising trackers and we do not sell audience data. If we ever add analytics, this page will say so before it happens.
How long we keep things
- Your account and your reviews stay as long as your account is open, because that is the product.
- If you close your account, tell us and we will delete your data, including the video and audio files, within thirty days. Some records may remain in encrypted database backups for up to seven days afterward before they age out.
- Launch list entries are deleted when you ask, or when the list is no longer in use.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email hello@praisepatch.com and we will respond within thirty days.
If you are in California, you also have the right to know what we collect and why, to delete it, to correct it, and to not be discriminated against for asking. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law.
If you are in Nevada, you may tell us not to sell your covered information. We do not sell it, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you are welcome to write to us and put it in the record.
If one of your customers asks us to delete their review, we will send them to you first, because the review is on your page and yours to remove. If they insist, we will remove it and tell you we did.
Security
Every table in our database enforces row level security, which means an account can only ever read its own rows. Review media is stored privately and served through checks tied to the account that owns it. Nothing is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you without undue delay and as required by applicable law.
Children
Praise Patch is for businesses. It is not for anyone under eighteen, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will remove it.
Where your data lives
Our servers are in the United States. If you use Praise Patch from outside the United States, your information will be processed here.
Changes to this page
If we change it, we will change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will email you rather than hoping you notice.
